Woman and Media working group is focused on the assistance to the development of gender equality through the media and journalists’ awareness in gender issues.

In 2001 several journalists implemented a project entitled Assistance to the Women’s Leadership and Development of Women’s NGO Coalition of Georgia. Series of TV programs Legends and Reality were prepared, photo-reportages, photo-albums, and analytical articles were published.

In 2002 the working group Woman and Media was set up and implemented a project Increase of Gender-Sensitivity of Journalists from Regional Medias.

The project implemented in 2003-2004, Creation of Media-Service of the Coalition foresaw activation of the links between the Coalition and the society and documentation of internal work of the body. 4 issues of information bulletin were published, archive and photo archive of the Coalition was created.

In 2005, the media group implemented project entitled Gender Journalism and Assistance to Women’s Promotion in Society. The goal of the project was to activate regional journalists to support women at the future local governance elections. On the basis of the projects implemented by the group, regional network of Georgian journalists, working at gender issues was set up.
