The aim of the Woman and Politics working group is to support women’s promotion in political parties as well as in the  different state administration structures; gender education of women MPs and of those women who are members of acting political parties.

October 21 2003 – the first podium discussion with the political party leaders was held in the conference hall of the National Library.

In 2003, prior to the parliamentary elections, social advertisement supporting women-candidates was prepared.

In 2004 the group formed Memorandum of Cooperation with women MPs.

The group’s activities in the regions of Georgia are focused on the support of women MPs at the upcoming local governance elections and on the formation of initiative group providing gender equality.

In 2005 the group conducted monitoring of gender equality in social-political unions. On the basis of the monitoring materials, the group currently works at the book Gender Monitoring and Analysis of Political Parties of Georgia.
